In 2003 a coalition was formed that aimed to prevent youth problems.  This coalition used a planning and decision-making process called Communities That Care.

Beginning in 2004, the Quincy CTC Coalition began sponsoring various prevention programs and activities.  The programs focused on families with children in the 5th to 8th grades – a crucial time of transition.

In 2007, our coalition received a Drug Free Communities [DFC] grant.  This 5-year grant allows us to strengthen our coalition, continue our planning and decision-making ability, and take on new projects called environmental strategies.

For every child in the Quincy Valley to grow up
to be healthy, drug-free and successful
by:

1) Collaborating with and involving all sectors of the community;

2) Preventing problems before they start; and,

3) Using proven & tested programs & approaches.
